Our verdict

Good for teams who want a polished hosted form builder with AI help and ready-made integrations, and who don't mind response caps. Skip it if you need to own the data on your own server or want a low fixed cost at higher volume.

What it does well

  • Free plan available for trying it out
  • Public Create, Responses and Webhooks APIs
  • Integrations with Zapier, Slack, Stripe, Calendly and others

Where it falls short

  • Free plan has a limited number of responses per month
  • Plans are flat monthly fees with capped seats and response limits
  • Not open source and not self-hostable

Typeform describes itself as an AI forms and automation platform with three products: Intelligent Forms, Growth Flow (lead enrichment and follow-ups) and Research Flow (AI-moderated studies). Forms can capture e-signatures, schedule meetings and take payments through Stripe and PayPal.

Pricing is a flat fee per plan rather than per user, in USD. Monthly billing: Basic 39 USD (1 user, 100 responses/month), Plus 79 USD (3 users, 1,000), Business 129 USD (5 users, 10,000), Talent 169 USD (3 users, 3,000), Growth Flow 379 USD (5 users, 10,000). Yearly billing lowers the monthly figure, for example Basic is 28 USD/month. Enterprise is custom.

A free plan exists with basic features and a limited number of responses per month. Typeform offers public APIs (Create, Responses, Webhooks) and an Embed SDK for developers.
