Our verdict

Good for product and engineering teams who want in-app and website surveys, and who value open source or self-hosting. Skip it if you mainly want a general-purpose form builder with a large template library.

What it does well

  • Core is open source under AGPLv3 and can be self-hosted
  • Free Hobby cloud plan with 250 responses a month
  • Surveys can run on links, websites, emails and inside apps

Where it falls short

  • Some features sit in a separately licensed Enterprise folder (needs a licence key)
  • Paid cloud plans cap responses (2,000 on Pro, 5,000 on Scale)
  • Annual prices are not listed on the pricing page
The Formbricks website
The official Formbricks website, 16 October 2026.

Formbricks calls itself the open source experience management platform. It runs surveys on websites, in emails and in apps, with event-triggered surveys and targeting by custom attributes. You can use its cloud service or self-host the whole thing; the pricing page links to self-hosting docs.

Cloud pricing is a flat monthly fee: Hobby is free (1 workspace, 250 responses/month), Pro is $74/month (3 workspaces, 2,000 responses/month, unlimited seats) and Scale is $325/month (5 workspaces, 5,000 responses/month, teams and access roles). Overage is opt-in. Annual billing is offered with '2 months free' but annual prices are not listed.

The core application is licensed under AGPLv3. The repository also contains code in an enterprise folder under a separate Enterprise licence, which requires a licence key to use.
