How we make money
Ocean of Softwares is free to use. When you click a “Try” button and later buy that tool, the company that makes it sometimes pays us a commission. You pay the same price either way.
Commissions never decide the ranking
We order tools by how well they fit the job you described. Whether a tool pays us, and how much, plays no part. Free and open source tools, which pay us nothing, sit right beside paid ones and often come first.
Which links earn money
Every “Try” button goes through a short link on our site (it starts with /go/) so we can count clicks. Some of those links are affiliate links; links to free and open source tools usually are not. Affiliate links are marked for search engines as sponsored.
Sponsored placements
If we ever show a paid placement, it will be labelled “Sponsored” right where it appears. It will never change a verdict, a rating or a comparison.
Keeping facts current
Prices and plans change often. Every page shows when it was last updated, and tool pages show when we last checked the facts against the official website. If you spot something out of date, tell us and we’ll fix it.
