Our verdict
What it does well

- Asks before sending email or making purchases
Where it falls short
- Meta's pages say US and Canada only, adults 18+
- Free usage limit size is not published
- Paid tiers use weekly token allowances

Muse is a standalone personal AI agent from Meta, announced on September 8, 2026. Meta describes it as an agent that "doesn't just answer questions, it actually does the work": it can send emails, book travel, fill out forms, browse the web, make purchases, create documents and images, and keep working in the background after you close the app. It runs on Muse Secure VM, a dedicated cloud computer with its own browser, and asks for approval before sensitive actions such as sending an email or paying. Muse is powered by Muse Spark, Meta's language model, which also powers the Meta AI assistant.
You can chat with Muse in the Muse app or directly in WhatsApp. Meta's newsroom post says it is rolling out in the US on iOS, Android and muse.ai, with AI glasses coming soon, and the muse.ai site also mentions a Mac app. Meta's small business page says it is available to people in the US and Canada who are 18 and over. Sign-in is with a Meta account (Facebook, Instagram, or an email address or phone number). Meta says your conversations are not shared with its ad systems, and you can opt out of having interactions used to train Meta's AI models.
Muse is free with a usage limit; when you hit it you can wait for it to refresh or subscribe. Meta's help center lists two paid plans: Power at $20 per month with 500 million Muse tokens per week, and Maximum at $100 per month with 3 billion Muse tokens per week. Plans renew monthly and can be bought from the mobile app or muse.ai. Meta says Muse and its subscriptions are in limited testing, so benefits and availability may vary by region and account.
