Our verdict

Asana suits teams that want a full work management tool with goals, dependencies and AI features, and are fine paying per seat. Skip it if you have more than two people and no budget, or want to self-host.

What it does well

  • Free Personal plan, listed as free forever
  • Connects tasks, projects, goals and dependencies in one Work Graph
  • Integrations with Slack, Google Drive, Microsoft Teams, HubSpot and Figma

Where it falls short

  • Free Personal plan is limited to 2 users
  • Paid plans are per user and cost more than Trello's or Plane's
  • Asana says it does not offer refunds
