Trello's free plan allows unlimited cards for up to 10 collaborators per Workspace, with up to 10 boards per Workspace. Standard costs $5 per user per month billed annually ($6 monthly), Premium $10 ($12.50 monthly) and Enterprise $17.50 billed annually.

Plane's free plan allows up to 12 users but leaves out the wiki, dashboards and integrations. Pro is $6 per user per month billed annually ($8 monthly) and Business is $13 ($15 monthly). Plane's code is open source under GNU AGPL v3, and no separate self-hosted prices are listed.

Trello centres on boards and cards, with an Inbox, a calendar Planner, automation, templates and Power-Ups. Plane offers Board, Spreadsheet, List and Gantt views, cycles with burndown charts, epics and a built-in wiki.

Both have web, iOS and Android apps and documented APIs. Only Plane lists self-hosting, with Docker and Kubernetes options.
