ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors cover documents, spreadsheets, presentations, forms and PDF editing, and are free for personal and professional use. They run on Windows, macOS and Linux, and the site links Android and iOS apps. The desktop code is on GitHub under AGPL-3.0.
LibreOffice is a free, open-source suite whose source code is under the Mozilla Public License v2.0. It has six tools: Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, Base and Math. It installs on Windows, macOS and Linux, while Android only gets a separate LibreOffice Viewer app, not a full editor.
ONLYOFFICE also sells a collaboration side. Its cloud has a free Startup plan for up to 3 admins and a Business plan at $20 per admin per month, and a self-hosted Docs Community edition under AGPL-3.0 is free. Enterprise and Developer editions are proprietary and quote-based.
Neither suite includes an email or calendar app in its editors. The pages gathered do not state how each handles Microsoft Office file fidelity side by side, so test your own documents before committing.
