Wix
A hosted website builder with templates, a drag-and-drop editor, an AI builder and built-in business tools.
Our verdict
What it does well
- Free plan to build and publish a site, no credit card needed
- Online store, bookings and email marketing are built in
- 2000+ templates plus a conversational AI site builder
Where it falls short
- Custom domain, ad removal and selling online need a paid plan
- Paid plans are billed yearly in full on the plans page
- Prices and currency vary by location

Wix is a hosted website builder. You pick one of 2000+ templates or describe your site to its AI builder, then edit it with a drag-and-drop editor. Wix says online stores, scheduling, email marketing, SEO tools and analytics are built in, with no plugins needed for selling.
Wix has a free plan that lets you build and publish a site on a Wixsite subdomain. Connecting a custom domain, removing ads and selling through an online store need a paid Premium plan.
Premium plans are Light, Core, Business and Business Elite. Wix's blog lists them at $17, $29, $39 and $159 per month when billed annually, and the plans page says displayed prices are for yearly subscriptions paid in full. Wix also offers a 14-day money-back guarantee on the first Premium upgrade.
