Mullvad VPN runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android. Its app code is on GitHub under GPL-3.0 (the repo notes the iOS app on the App Store falls under the Apple App Store EULA instead). Mullvad's servers page listed 566 servers in 50 countries when we checked; this number changes.
Mullvad says its underlying policy is that it never stores activity logs of any kind, and that it logs nothing that can be connected to a numbered account's activity, including IP addresses and DNS requests. It says connection checks are done in temporary memory only. Its policy also notes that card, PayPal, Swish and bank-wire payment records are kept and are not anonymous, and that support emails are erased after 70 days. On its GitHub page Mullvad says the app is audited by external security experts every second year and that results are published unredacted. These are Mullvad's own statements.
Pricing is €5 per month, VAT included, with the same monthly rate for 1 month, 1 year or 1 decade top-ups. One account works on up to 5 devices. Accepted payments listed include cash, Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Monero, bank wire, credit card, PayPal, Swish, Eps, Bancontact, iDEAL | Wero and Przelewy24; Mullvad says cryptocurrencies are discounted 10%. Mullvad says it has no free plan.
