- Plus is capped at 50 billable clients; unlimited clients needs Premium at $70/month

FreshBooks calls itself cloud accounting and invoicing software for small businesses, freelancers and the self-employed. It covers invoices, online payments, payment reminders, expenses with receipt scanning, time tracking, proposals and estimates, mileage tracking, reporting and payroll. It runs in a browser and has iPhone and Android apps.
Pricing on the US page is by number of billable clients. Lite is $23.00/month (5 clients), Plus $43.00/month (50 clients) and Premium $70.00/month (unlimited), with Select priced by contacting sales. A promotion showed 80% off for 4 months ($4.60, $8.60 and $14.00 per month). Add-ons: Team Members $11/month per user, Advanced Payments $20/month, and Payroll $40/month plus $6/month per user.
There is a 30-day free trial with no credit card, but no free plan. The page says the client limit counts active and archived clients, and that deleting clients frees up spots. Purchases carry a 30-day money-back guarantee.
