PdfCraft
Free, open-source PDF reader and editor, a clean-room take on Adobe Acrobat.
Our verdict
PdfCraft is for people who mostly view, comment, fill forms and reorder pages and want a free tool. Skip it if you need full Acrobat Pro features or have to open untrusted files.
What it does well
- Read, organize, combine, split and secure PDFs
- Free and open source on desktop and in the browser
- README states about 55% ready for everyday Acrobat tasks
Where it falls short
- Alpha; fuzzing still finds crashes on hostile files
- Quality not yet compared side by side with Acrobat
- Young project; versions are still 0.x
